Mr. Cruz is the director of operations at CIDRAP with responsibility for center management and operational effectiveness in advancement of CIDRAP's strategic plans. His role encompasses budget development and fiscal management, human resource management, strategic planning, fundraising, and information/web technology. He is responsible for facilitating and assuring successful completion of goals and deliverables for new and existing sponsored projects, liaising with the technical team, and project funders. Mr. Cruz has successfully led and participated in efforts to secure grants and contracts from corporations, federal agencies, associations, and not-for-profit foundations.
Mr. Cruz holds a BA in economics and a BS in business administration from George Mason University, as well as a graduate-level certificate in public health from the University of Minnesota. He has dedicated his skills and time to furthering the development and well-being of diverse people and communities, working for organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative, and the Cooperative Agreement between the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.
