Mr. Cruz is the director of operations at CIDRAP with responsibility for center management and operational effectiveness. This includes budget development and fiscal management, human resource management, strategic planning, fundraising, and information/web technology in advancement of CIDRAP's strategic plans. He is responsible for facilitating and assuring successful completion of goals and deliverables for new and existing sponsored projects, liaising with the technical team and project funders. He has led and participated in successful efforts to secure grants and contracts from corporations, federal agencies, associations, and not-for-profit foundations.
Mr. Cruz graduated from George Mason University with a BA in economics / BS in business administration, and has a graduate level certificate in public health from the University of Minnesota. He has dedicated his skills and time to furthering the development and well-being of diverse people and communities, working with the American Red Cross, the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative, and the Cooperative Agreement between the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.
