Cory Anderson, PhD, MPH

Researcher, Co-Director, CWD

Dr. Anderson is co-director of CIDRAP’s Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Program, which focuses on CWD spread among cervids and potential transmission to humans and other animal species. He joined CIDRAP in 2019 and helped launch the CWD Program that same year. In addition to his work related to CWD,
Dr. Anderson has been involved with initiatives such as the Coronavirus Vaccines R&D Roadmap project, COVID-19 CIDRAP Viewpoint reports, and Osterholm Update podcast.

He earned his PhD and MPH in Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota, with a concentration in infectious diseases. Prior to joining CIDRAP, Dr. Anderson was a student worker at the Minnesota Department of Health in the foodborne illness unit
