Salmonella risk in flavoring may drive host of food recalls

(CIDRAP News) Potentially thousands of food products are at risk of being recalled because they contain an ingredient that may have been contaminated with a strain of Salmonella, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said today.

Red pepper recalled in Salmonella outbreak

(CIDRAP News) A company that supplied crushed red pepper to a Rhode Island sausage maker at the center of a nationwide Salmonella outbreak has recalled 10 months' worth of production after two samples of the product were found to be contaminated.

Red pepper cited as Salmonella -linked recall expands

(CIDRAP News) The sausage company at the center of a widespread Salmonella outbreak has recalled another 115,000 pounds of products, this time citing red pepper instead of black pepper as the possible source of contamination.
